Measuring the cost of internal displacement: Eswatini, Ethiopia, Kenya and Somalia

Sub-Saharan Africa accounted for the highest number of IDPs and new displacements associated with conflict and violence in 2018. It also registered a historically high number of new displacements associated with disasters. Internal displacement can have a severe impact
on the well-being and welfare of internally displaced people (IDPs) and their host communities, but quantitative assessments of this impact are rare and inconsistent.
